Lizzy Atwood Wills

Communications Director

Lizzy Atwood Wills (she/her) grew up with deep roots in Oregon's civic and political landscape, and has spent more than a decade working at the intersection of policy, communications, and community in Portland and across the state. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Portland State University.

Prior to joining North Star, Lizzy spent several years working in the Oregon Legislature as both legislative staff and a lobbyist, with a focus on the state budget and health and human services. Her work contributed to passing Tobacco 21, the Reproductive Health Equity Act, and to securing increased funding for public health, mental health, and housing initiatives at the local level. She also served as Oregon Communications Director for the Healing Advocacy Fund, where she led statewide public education efforts for Oregon's psilocybin therapy program. Most recently, Lizzy was the State Coordinator for Government Relations at Multnomah County.

Lizzy's first exposure to board service was with the Bus Project, Oregon's youth civic engagement organization, where she helped discover and develop the idea of using the "business reply" system to pay for postage on mail-in ballots. She brings to North Star a deep familiarity with Oregon's political, nonprofit, and government ecosystems. Outside of her professional work, Lizzy is the founder of Meridian Boutique Travel, and loves to go on beach adventures with her chocolate lab.
